What makes this single malt whisky so special is the distillery process. Tiny Bear Whisky Barrel 13 is aged in wine barrels allowing for a rich, lightly-spiced and fruity taste profile with notes of white pepper and burnt tangerine on the nose. In true Tiny Bear style, this is a seriously small batch. We only distil a limited number of barrels and we haven’t stored any away for a special occasion.

Locally made in Victoria, the Tiny Bear Whisky Barrel 13 proves you don’t have to travel far to get some seriously great tasting whisky.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: white pepper, burnt tangerine, and a touch of honey.


Taste: lightly spiced with a dominant white pepper note, fruity undertones, and a punchy quality. Dilution brings out nutty and caramel flavours, and it concludes with a medium body and a lasting spice.

THE TINY BEAR PROCESS

Surprisingly, Tiny Bear begins its creation process much like beer. We take malted barley, water and yeast, and begin fermentation much like beer. The barley releases sugars and the yeast turns that into alcohol. This process takes several days and creates a liquid called wash which has a relatively low alcohol content. We then begin the distillation process in our copper pot still. This separates the alcohol from the wash resulting in a liquid with a much higher alcohol content. The next part is one of the many aspects that make Tiny Bear Whisky special. We age our whisky in wine barrels, which creates a distinct and entirely unique flavour profile created from the rich aromas of the wine barrel.
